Le Marche Wine & Spa Retreat Nestled in the Hills of San Marcello

Named for the thread that runs through the property’s mission, this organic wine-country estate knits together wine production, hospitality and wellness in the green hills of Italy’s Marche region.

Along with its production of Lacrima di Morro d’Alba and Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi grapes, the property welcomes guests for wellness, relaxation and slow living in unique, elegant suites occupying a modern architectural complex on the site of the winery’s former farmhouse. Created to engage in a dialogue with nature, the suites are surrounded by vines with an interior design that favors the rich natural hues of the Le Marche—olive greens, velvety browns and sand tones, with custom furnishings and décor by local artists and artisans.

Luxury Room: A ground floor space with a private entrance, the Luxury Room’s bleached wood ceiling and subtle palette inspired by Verdicchio vines invites relaxation. There’s a vineyard-facing veranda, a shower and herb-garden around the lawn.

Suite: With its private entrance, bedroom and living room combination and private veranda with garden access, this space also includes a custom kitchen and sofa bed, a private outdoor shower, and views of the fertile countryside.

Luxury Suite: A bright upstairs suite with a double bedroom facing the courtyard, a canopy bed and exposed beams, this suite also has a living room, a custom kitchen and private sunset terrace overlooking the vines.

Grand Suite: Entered through a courtyard door, this two-bedroom space features one double room with a romantic canopied bed and a second bedroom with a pair of twins. The living room’s sofa bed provides overflowing sleeping, and there’s a custom kitchen, a private veranda and an outdoor shower.

All rooms include daily breakfast and cleaning, spa and pool linens, and access to laundry facilities, mountain bikes, electric car charging, and parking.

Wellness amenities include the infinity swimming pool in the vines, a 300-square-meter wellness center and gym, as well as a beauty specialist for esthetic treatments. The spa is equipped with a sauna, reaction tank, Turkish bath, Kneipp bath, emotional showers, plus heated outdoor and indoor whirlpools with tides, and the gym offers aerobic exercise equipment.

Local farms and fruits are the source for the property’s kitchen, paired with wines from the cellar. Daily breakfast is provided, and lunch and multi-course tasting menus with wine pairings are available by reservation, as are special nights created to highlight the property’s thread from the vineyard to the cellar.

Located in the vineyard-blanketed San Marcello hills of central Italy’s Le Marche region, the property is easily accessible to Ancona, Bologna (2 hours), Rome (3 hours) and Milan (4 hours). The region is still delightfully lesser known than many of Italy’s areas, an area full of medieval villages including 28 of the “Most Beautiful Italian Villages,” more than a dozen National Parks and Natural Reserves, 20 DOC and DOCG wine regions, and 170 kilometers of coastline, with abundant sands and picturesque coves for exploring.

Three of the region’s towns have garnered UNESCO World Heritage designations, Urbino for its staggeringly prominent Renaissance architecture, Fabriano as a “city of creativity” for its history of paper making, and Pesaro for its classical music heritage as the city of Rossini, the legendary Italian composer.
