A Soulful Retreat in the Rolling Hills of Southern Styria
Reimagined from a historic barn, this two-story chalet retains its rustic integrity while incorporating an open, modern aesthetic. The design emphasizes natural materials, from the oak parquet flooring to the solid wood kitchen fronts made of larch. Throughout the home, custom pieces such as the ceramic lamps by artist Rainer Martin and glass art by Johanna Krainer add a unique, artistic character that makes the space feel highly personal.
The fully-equipped kitchen features solid larch wood fronts, an induction cooker, and an Illy coffee machine. The living area is centered around a gas fireplace with a three-sided glass pane. There is a private pinewood sauna with panoramic glazing and a rain shower on the lower floor.
The chalet offers two private terraces. On the ground floor, a large terrace provides an ideal spot for relaxation and dining with direct access from the living area. The upper floor features a large roof terrace, offering expansive views of the surrounding hills and the Wolfgangi Church. All guests have access to the shared infinity pool, a 300-year-old wine cellar, and a communal barbecue area.
