A Restored Heritage Farm Sanctuary

This restoration of an ancestral 19th-century farm was envisioned by its architect-owner Michaelis and his wife Nelly. Located in the fertile Lamyra village, the property features five autonomous guest suites and a grand communal main house, all oriented toward the Aegean and the verdant valley.

Once a collection of dilapidated agricultural ruins, the estate was rebuilt over two decades. The design utilizes local schist stone for exterior mass and recycled bricks for interior warmth, preserving the original footprint of the stables and sties. The farm’s own springs feed the citrus orchards, vineyard, and vegetable gardens that provide the estate’s daily bounty.

Terracotta floors and whitewashed walls are softened by Egyptian cotton linens, built-in stone beds, and bespoke timber furnishings. Each suite is a private retreat, featuring modern bathrooms and high-quality local bath amenities.

The grounds are an immersive Mediterranean garden, punctuated by streams and stone pathways. A 100-square-meter pool deck serves as a communal heart, while a giant hillside hammock offers afternoon siestas with sea views. The estate holds 50+ lemon trees, fragrant jasmine, and a dedicated yoga gazebo where the sounds of the cicadas and bees provide the soundtrack.

Layout

This vacation home for rent in Andros sleeps up to 14 guests. The estate comprises five independent suites and a communal main house. The Farmer's House (Suite A) sleeps two in a spacious double, with a foldable child's bed available. The Farmer's Family House (Suite B) sleeps four: one king-size bed and a separate area with two singles. The Winemaker's Studio (Suite C) sleeps two in a double (twin mattresses). The Piggies Nest (Suite D) sleeps two in a double, positioned directly beside the pool. The Gardener's Suite (Suite E) sleeps two in a double, with a private outdoor sitting area. The main house provides a communal living room, fully equipped kitchen, ocean-facing balcony, and breakfast terrace.

Experiences

Activities include natural wine tasting from the estate’s Muscat grapes and farm-to-table cooking classes using seasonal vegetables. Guests can book dawn yoga in the gazebo, professional massage treatments, or guided hikes along the 240 kilometers of ancient Andros trails that border the property.

Good to know

There are daily cleaning services and a dedicated meet and greet upon arrival. The uneven stone terrain and lack of individual kitchens in guest suites make it best suited for adults or older children. A car is essential for exploring the island.

The estate is located in Lamyra, just two kilometers from the aristocratic capital of Chora, famous for its Venetian and neoclassical architecture. A short drive connects guests to the azure waters of Neimporio and Paraporti beaches, and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chora is a five-minute journey. Hikers are perfectly positioned to access the island’s famous marked trails, including paths to the Sariza springs and the Menites waterfalls. The port of Gavrio is approximately 50 minutes by car, offering a scenic route through the island’s mountainous, spring-fed interior.
