Studio Balagane transformed the space using only high-quality local materials and reimagined the roof in local style with terracotta tiles. The lime-finished exterior and bold cornerstones come from a nearby quarry and interiors are minimalist and organic, in a palette inspired by the local landscape of sand, pale earth and deep maquis-toned green found across the home’s linens, rattan and wood furnishings and designer fixtures.

The five-bedroom house features four en-suite bedrooms and one bedroom that offers direct access to the villa’s one-hectare garden.

Dedicated services include a bespoke welcome, housekeeping staff, and concierge.

Located between mountains and sea in the charming village of La Colle-sur-Loup (named for the wolves that once roamed this wild valley), the villa checks all the best holiday home boxes: close to the coast, insulated in the leafy countryside, and near must-see villages such as Saint-Paul-de-Vence and Cagnes-sur-Mer. The Loup River runs nearby, an ideal waterway for picnics on its banks. The home’s lot was once agricultural land where violets flourished, and the property is only 30 minutes from Grasse, the perfume capital of France and 15 minutes to the Mediterranean Sea. Recommended restaurants, shops and craft workshops are within five to 10 minutes of the home, and there are also cultural heritage sites (Fondation Cab, Fondation Maeght, Chapelle Folon, and Tourettes-sur-Loup) reachable in just over 15 minutes.

Nature lovers will find hikes in the surrounding hills and along the river, and wildlife just might make an appearance in the woods-surrounded garden. The nearby Gorges du Loup area is a favorite destination for serious rock climbers and fans of canyoning, and the rugged valley makes a gorgeous detour even if you don’t scale the rocks.

Saint-Paul-de-Vence offers cobbled streets, dozens of renowned art galleries and craft workshops, and a poetic, medieval village charm. Cagnes-sur-Mer is the spot for sunbathing, with a handful of beach options, a picturesque seaside promenade and the renowned Grimaldi Castle and Museum when you’re ready to head indoors.
