A Modernist Townhouse in Malmö's Bo01 District
Originally conceived during Sweden’s sustainable housing movement, the structure utilizes a unique "Packhus" typology. The 2021 renovation softened the industrial edges, introducing custom joinery and a muted palette that reflects the coastal light. It is a playful interaction of volume and void, where two vertical towers connect via communal living spaces, offering privacy within a unified design narrative.
The kitchen serves as the heart of the home, equipped for serious cooking, while the orangerie features a sliding glass window that frames sea views. A private indoor sauna offers a quintessential Swedish retreat, and there are two separate media rooms. A rooftop patio is designed for socializing, complete with dining furniture and a barbecue for summer evenings.
What we love
We’re fascinated by the layout here. Two separate towers connected by a rooftop terrace is such a unique, fun way to live. The interiors don’t play it safe either. Swapping standard beige for bold colors and confident design makes the whole place feel vibrant and genuinely inspiring to wake up in. It’s that rare mix of serious architecture and a laid-back, creative vibe.
Layout
This vacation home for rent in Malmö sleeps up to eight guests in two distinct towers and on three floors. The master suite with a king bed (180cm) occupies the third floor of one tower. The second tower houses two bedrooms side-by-side (one double, one single). A fourth bedroom on the middle floor features a spacious single (120cm). Two full bathrooms include showers, and flexible sleeping options like air mattresses are available.
Experiences
The property is fully equipped for family entertainment with toys, games, and streaming services. The private sauna provides an in-home wellness experience.
Good to know
The home is spread across three levels with stairs, so it may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility. A secure parking space is available for an additional fee. While the area is generally calm, this is a living urban district, so expect the gentle hum of neighborhood life.
