Mas Grimosach, an 18th-Century Masia in a Biodynamic Winery Estate, Penedès
This home was carefully restored to preserve its original Catalan character—stone walls, traditional proportions, the unhurried quality that belongs to a building that has stood for three centuries. Nudeinterior layered this structure with natural textiles, vintage finds, and a palette that echoes the landscape outside.
Two living rooms anchor the interior: one looks out over the vineyards, the other contains the television and is the home's more private retreat. The kitchen is fully equipped for long, slow meals in. Natural light moves through the rooms in a way that changes with the seasons.
A pool sits within the vineyards, overlooking the rows of Xarel·lo and Macabeo vines. A covered terrace and an outdoor dining area are set up for the long Mediterranean evenings that define this part of Catalonia. The views take in the estate and, in the distance, the monastery of Sant Sebastià dels Gorgs. The surrounding land (30 hectares of forest, vines, and open sky) is yours to walk.
What we love
Wake up to birdsong and uninterrupted views over the Penedès—no neighbors, no noise, just vines. Long lunches stretch into longer dinners on the terrace, and the pool looks out over the estate at sunset. When you're ready, Eudald Massana's winery is right there. Nine generations of biodynamic farming, and they'll walk you through every bottle.

Around
Sant Pau d'Ordal is a small village of fewer than a thousand people, but it punches well above its weight gastronomically. Cal Pere del Maset, also Michelin-listed, is nearby. The monastery of Montserrat, the mountain sanctuary carved into serrated rock above the plain, is around 30 minutes by car. Sitges and the coast are 25 minutes in the other direction.
