A Little Luxury Among the Medieval Bell Towers
Nestled in the Tuscan hill town of Montalcino, this restored apartment is a short walk from its historical heart, as well as characterful restaurants and shops. Enter the property through a private gated corridor, and you'll find a garden with panoramic views across the nearby bell towers and the countryside of the Val d'Orica.
If you're inclined to lounge, pick up a bottle of local wine and enjoy a glass or two in the hot tub as the sun goes down. Alternatively, gather some local produce to create a feast and dine al fresco in the gazebo. The light-filled interior of the apartment features modern art, reclaimed teak floors with radiant heating, a well-equipped stainless-steel galley kitchen, and a Turkish steam bath.
It's the best of both worlds, a luxurious modern hideaway tucked into a medieval setting. And it's dog friendly too.

This vacation home for rent in Italy was completely renovated in 2017, adding heating and air conditioning, plus teak floors and a fully-equipped kitchen. The bathroom has a modern shower and a Turkish steam bath with chromotherapy. There is a new gazebo and Jacuzzi in the garden.
AROUND
The charms of Tuscany are well known, but this vacation home for rent in Italy boasts an abundance of attractions. Take a tour of a nearby winery; there are more than 250 to choose from! Take a day hike to Sant'Antimo Abbey, then catch the shuttle back to Montalcino, where you can shop for local textiles, extra virgin olive oil, honey, cheese, biscotti and wine, or just grab a gelato before heading home.
If you love to cook, book a cooking class and learn how to make pasta and other local delicacies. Ask the owners for further information when you book.
The other beautiful hill towns of Pienza, Montepulciano, San Quirico D'Orcia, and Bagno Vignoni are all a short drive away, and Siena is great for a day trip. Often described as Italy's loveliest medieval city, it's worth the drive for its central piazza Il Campo, which is dominated by the red, towering Palazzo Pubblico and its Gothic Duomo.
