Tall, Bright, and Handsome: A Simple Living Island Villa
An estate home that’s been a family's holiday headquarters for more than 80 years, this stately country manor sits in a grove of glinting olives backed by cypress trees. It has a vast organic vegetable and fruit garden, a generous swimming pool, and plenty of unspoiled nature all around, for picnicking, foraging, and slowing down and simply observing.
Slow Living in Abundance on Zakynthos
A country manor that’s been in the same family for nearly a century, this tall, bright and handsome villa on the island of Zakynthos offers a world of simple abundance. An abundance of space, an abundance of nature, and an abundance of good old-fashioned down time in a time-tested villa that places a premium on relaxing and living the slow, good life.
Blessed with a fertile, organic produce garden and surrounded by olive trees, the home is closely connected to nature, with vine-clad dining pergolas, shaded picnic areas, hammocks under the trees and sun-drenched lounge chairs. Plus there are panoramic bedroom balconies with mountain views and plenty of alfresco living spaces for dining, reading, journaling or sipping a cocktail in the island sunshine.
PHI is a place that will inspire you to focus on a minimal living and a lifestyle connected to nature. We believe simple things like nature can make a big difference in making our lives better and we offer opportunities to experience harmony, slow living, and relaxation of your mind and body in the pure simplicity of nature.
Insulated from its neighbors and nearby Zakynthos Town by acres of woods, the home has three serene and minimal bedrooms, and its pool is a private garden oasis.
Around
Located in the area outside of Zakynthos Town’s center known as Akrotiri, the home is about a kilometer from the heart of the city and a 20-minute walk to Tsilivi Beach, a well-developed waterfront that extends into Planos Beach, with dozens of water sports facilities and sunbed and parasol rentals, plus numerous waterfront cafes and bars.
Zakynthos Town is the island’s largest, with a lively port and pier area, pebble beaches, and lots of shopping and nightlife. A ruined castle, once occupied by the island’s Venetian rulers, rises above the city, and the seafront promenade extends along the harbor between the Monastery of Strofades and the church Agios Niolaos of Molos. The real beach draw on Zakynthos is Shipwreck Cove, accessible only by boat (or from a lookout point atop its cliffs, some 200 meters above the deep blue cove). Adventurers can also visit the island’s western coast near the picturesque village of Volimes, where the famed Blue Caves are located. Known for their reflective qualities against the white rock faces, the caves are accessible only by sea, the biggest Cyan Cave.
