A Shoppable Stay Concept

This vacation home rental in Maine is a shoppable stay concept by PIECES, a bold design brand created by Jenny Kaplan, her husband Chris Corrado, and Taisha Coombs. Originally built in 1878, the space has been completely remodeled and turned into a showcase for their designs as well as those of other brands they love, like Uprise Art and Vitra.

Find something you like... the vividly-colored, meandering rug, perhaps? Buy one and have it shipped to your home. Stay the night, find inspiration, and bring it home with you.

This unique space was designed and furnished by home-design product company, PIECES. It has four bedrooms, two bathrooms, generously-sized common areas, as well as outdoor living space, and is ideal for a trip with family or friends.

The owners have partnered with some of their favorite brands to fill the house with great bedding, appliances, furniture and even skincare. The first floor houses the master bedroom with full bathroom, plus the TV room, dining room and sitting room, with a fully-equipped kitchen. There is air conditioning on this floor only. The second floor has two bedrooms - one with a queen bed, the other with two twins. There is also a full bathroom. The garden has a large deck with a dining space, gas grill, hammock and firepit.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES

Amenities include air conditioning, heating, hairdryer, iron, washer/dryer, TV, fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide alarm, smoke alarm and first aid kit, plus parking for five vehicles. The fully-equipped kitchen has a microwave, coffee maker, fridge, dishwasher, oven, and stove, plus there is a barbecue grill outside.

The house is located in the Kennebunk Historic District, close to beaches, shopping, golfing and some of the best dining experiences in coastal Maine. Kennebunk is a quintessential New England seaside town, full of one-of-a-kind character and charisma. Roadside lobster shacks, old-fashioned ice cream shops, local souvenir shops, and pretty beaches are all five minutes’ drive from the house. In the winter, locals and tourists gather for the Christmas Prelude, which fills the town with shoppers, carolers and revelers.
