A Curated Rooftop in Downtown Porto

The owners, seasoned travelers, collaborated with designer Catarina Graça Moura (Catarina Machado) and local artists to create this home. The goal was to build a space that champions Porto's contemporary creative scene, feeling personal and authentic. It is an expression of design-led hospitality for guests seeking a true connection to the city.

The 200-square-meter loft is defined by abundant natural light and interiors that blend contemporary forms with personal touches. The space is punctuated by works from local Porto artists Andre Gigante and Victor Marque. The apartment includes a dedicated work desk, high-speed internet, a Samsung Smart TV (HBO, Netflix), and a Bluetooth speaker.

The apartment’s main living area flows out to a spacious terrace. This private outdoor space is furnished for relaxing after a day of exploration and offers views over the Porto downtown skyline. In addition to the main terrace, the apartment also features two smaller balconies.

Layout

This vacation home for rent in Porto sleeps up to four guests. The elevator opens to the main level of the fourth-floor apartment. This floor includes the open living area, kitchen, a spacious terrace, and two balconies. It also hosts the two bathrooms and a queen en-suite bedroom. A staircase leads to the upstairs loft, which holds the second bedroom, configured with two single beds.

The owners provide a personal welcome and share their private, curated Porto city guidebook. They are available to offer an inside view of the city, recommending favorite restaurants, bars, and sights.

Good to know

The apartment is on the fourth floor, accessible by an elevator. However, there are internal stairs to reach the upstairs bedroom. Both bathrooms are located on the main (lower) floor. The owners live next door and request quiet hours after 10PM. Private parking is included. This is a residential building, and parties are not permitted.

The apartment is in downtown Porto, a two-minute walk from the historic Mercado do Bolhão and the shopping on Rua Santa Catarina. The Bolhão subway station is also two minutes away, connecting to the airport. Within a 200-meter radius are bakeries, groceries, and pharmacies. For a local meal, the restaurant Buraco is a five-minute walk. While a car is not needed to explore the city, a private parking space is provided. The riverside, Ponte D. Luis, and Livraria Lello are all within a 15-minute walk.
