An Early 20th-Century Apartment Coexists with its Ancient Neighbors
In a city of priceless antiquity, this vacation home for rent in Athens reminds us that designers and artists of the 20th century had some pretty good ideas as well. Located in a lively neighborhood overlooking the Acropolis, the circa-1970s apartment is in the very center of town placing it alongside its ancient neighbors.
Deriving its name from the current owner's grandmother whose love of textiles and traditional Greek handcrafts adorn the house with colors in tribute to the statues of Parthenon, her granddaughter has connected the eras with modern beton, wood and metal elements, bringing them both in to focus.

This sunny and cheerful vacation home for rent in Athens built in the 1970s is a mix of early and mid-20th-century design inspired by both current trends and age-old traditions.
The third floor apartment hovers above the lively action of the city below while maintaining peaceful privacy for when you want a break. Completely renovated in 2016, it keeps the unique characteristics of the architecture of the era while mixing creative ideas from the owner's grandmother who inhabited the home for decades. Mondrian style geometric patterns and colors coexist with vintage mid-century pieces and softer textiles in an artistic mash-up of styles.
There is a compact fully-equipped kitchen with dining space and an adjacent living room and balcony with Acropolis views, where you can sit and take in the city. The two bedrooms sleep up to four guests.
