Subtle Luxuries & Raw Natural Beauty In The Sierra Nevada
This vacation home rental in California is a rare gem that stylishly pairs subtle luxury and raw natural beauty. The house has a finely tuned sense of rustic modernism and was designed to adapt to and harmonize with the landscape, while the magnificent location speaks for itself.
Subtle Luxuries & Raw Natural Beauty In The Sierra Nevada
Nestled along the banks of the Kaweah River at the base of the Sequoia National Park, this vacation home rental in California is placed in a spot of pristine natural beauty in the Sierra Nevada mountain town of Three Rivers. Designed by a creative California couple, the property is a one-of-a-kind riverfront refuge and a creative sanctuary for those seeking inspiration and renewal in nature.
Located on a former Native American gathering site, there are mortars carved into the granite boulders and a pestle that was found on the property years ago. Today this amazing spot continues to serve as a communal place and makes for an idyllic retreat for friends and family.
Meticulously restored with custom finishes and furnished with an eye-catching mix of rustic and vintage modern design, the house has the feel of a Big Sur-inspired Japanese treehouse.
The main house includes a beautiful great room with lofty ceilings, picture windows, and large fully equipped kitchen ideal for entertaining. There are three en suite bedrooms here and one additional bedroom in the perfect little guest house.
Surrounded by a variety of oaks and rambling native gardens, there are multiple terraces, a fire pit, and a large outdoor dining area with enough room and privacy for everyone. With the feel of a cabin and the refinement of a modern classic, this one-of-a-kind vacation home is the ultimate escape from the city and a luxurious base camp for exploring the Sequoia National Park.
THREE RIVERS
Iconic, majestic and one of nature's most dazzling wonders, the Sequoias and the surrounding Sierra Nevada mountains are some of the best that California has to offer.
Centrally located, the house is a ten to fifteen-minute drive to the main entrance to Sequoia National Park station and both Slick Rock recreation areas and King’s Canyon National Park, and just a few minutes from Three Rivers town restaurants and shops.
A nature lovers paradise, there are plenty of areas to hike, bike, fish, and swim; and during the summer months, world-class white-water rafting and kayaking. Lake Kaweah, surrounded by the golden hills of California's lower Sierra Nevada mountains, is just five miles downstream and a hot spot for boating and fishing. It's approximately a three and a half hour drive from Los Angeles and four and half from San Francisco.

We love coming to this beautiful and thoughtfully prepared property. It's our second time staying here and we can't wait to come back. Everything is designed so well, the surroundings are breathtaking and the house has everything you could possibly need. Chris is a very kind, communicative and accommodating host. Thanks for everything!
I booked this beautiful home a year ago and was super excited for our visit. It did not disappoint, our trip was fabulous because of the natural setting, beautiful home and Chris' generous hospitality. We were perfectly happy and comfortable staying riverside, inside or lounging on the deck. The house was well stocked and aesthetically pleasing with lots to look at and admire. I was thrilled to browse and borrow a variety of books and got to indulge with my favorite authors while dipping my feet in the cool river water. I look forward to being lucky enough to score some more days at Sequoia Falls in the near future.
We stayed at one of Chris' previous properties, Kaweah Falls, nine years ago for my partner's 40th and thought it would be fun to stay at Sequoia Falls for my 40th this year. As beautiful as Kaweah Falls was, Sequoia Falls exceeded every expectation we had. We arrived to beautiful baskets of fruit, a lovely note, and handmade muffins from Maria (the same muffins I had nine years ago, which were so delicious I talked about them for months afterwards). As other commenters have said, it's the details that make Chris' properties so special. It takes a unique talent to make people from around the world feel like a rental property is THEIR home but that's exactly what Chris does. I highly recommend exploring the property and taking in all the little touches that make this place so warm and inviting, from the heron weathervane to the countless seating options to the extensive library of curated reading options (John Muir's books were a favorite). We left completely relaxed and at peace and are already planning our next visit.
Sequoia Falls was the best rental we've stayed at by far. We had a group of family with kids ranging from 16 yrs old to 6 months and everyone had a great time. Chris has set up so many peaceful zones with plenty of swings, seating to make a chill spot for one or two people or the whole family. The inside of the house is super comfortable with very nice furniture, decor, extras to make you feel at home. We loved the beautiful ceiling fans, the soft sheets/blankets and the plentiful kitchen. I personally loved the body wash in the shower- smelled amazing! Chris was also friendly, responsive and super accommodating to us. I think the host makes this place outstanding. We followed his secret swimming hole advice and had a private swimming spot all to ourselves. If you are considering visiting this area, this property is worth every penny, we'll be back for sure! Thanks Chris!
Sequoia Falls is one of the most extraordinary properties I have ever had the privilege of experiencing. Every inch of the residences has been thoughtfully considered. The absolute beauty of and proximity to the river must be seen to be believed.
WOW!!! Best stay ever! What a place! The location is so beautiful that I liked it more than the visit to the national park. 10 mins to the park entrance and 5 minutes to town. Feels like you are all by your self at this property. Amazing beach for the kids to play (yes they have sand toys), and a great place to swim. The balcony is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the incredible view. House is well done, super clean, and has a great host. All the details are thought of to make this a great stay even for the pickiest of travelers. I don't know how another rental house can possibly be better than this one.
