A Garden House for Two in a Cypriot Wine Village
Stroumpi is a hill village in the Paphos District, midway on the road connecting Paphos to Polis and the Akamas Peninsula. It sits on the Laona–Akamas wine route and hosts the Dionysia festival, a celebration of the village's winemaking history, in its central square each August.
The home's owner renovated Soul to preserve what he describes as authentic island character, working with the building's proportions rather than against them. Features include room-darkening shades, a Marshall sound system, KORRES products in the bathroom, and a Siemens kitchen with a proper oven and dishwasher. The garden is fully fenced and planted with Mediterranean species. The barbecue terrace and outdoor dining area make the outdoor space as functional as the interior. The pool is private.
The garden is a Mediterranean planting of herbs, flowering shrubs, and shade trees surrounding a private pool, with an outdoor dining area and grill. The terrace connects directly to the interior through a private entrance.
What we love
The heart of the experience here is the completely private, fully fenced Mediterranean garden, where you can spend long, unhurried afternoons cooling off in your private pool, firing up the barbecue for an open-air dinner, and listening to your favorite music on the Marshall sound system under a star-filled sky completely free of city light pollution. It’s a soulful haven that invites you to slow down and explore the island's most authentic wine villages, nature trails, and coastlines at your own pace.
