A Design Apartment in the 16th Arrondissement
The owner of this 86 m² duplex designed it for guests who expect hotel standards but resent hotel anonymity. The apartment sits in a Haussmann-era building in the Passy-Trocadéro pocket of the 16th, one of Paris's quietest and most residential quarters, with a private street entrance and no shared lobby to navigate.
The home cinema room on the lower level is the apartment's most declarative gesture: full surround sound, projection or premium screen, a room designed around the act of watching rather than a television bolted to a wall. The kitchen has an induction stovetop, oven, dishwasher, integrated coffee machine, marble and wood countertops. Marble runs through the bathroom, and the furniture is made to measure. The workspace on the upper level comes with an external monitor and ergonomic setup.
It's two minutes to Place du Trocadéro and 10 minutes to the Eiffel Tower on foot.
What we love
This home offers the rare luxury of experiencing Paris with the total discretion of a private residence and the flawless standards of a five-star hotel. From your own street-level entrance in the elegant 16th arrondissement, you step into a design sanctuary where you can transition seamlessly from a dedicated ergonomic workspace to your own private, lower-level home cinema with full surround sound.

Around
The 16th is residential, tree-lined, and emphatically non-touristy, except for the fact that it's home to the Eiffel Tower. From Trocadéro, the views across the Seine to the tower are the ones used on every postcard, and from the apartment, you can walk there in 10 minutes. The Palais de Tokyo and the Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris are both on Avenue du Président Wilson, a short walk from the door. The Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine is at Palais de Chaillot, two minutes away. Rue de Passy provides the daily essentials—markets, bakeries, pharmacies.
