Distinctive Island Duo
Local stone encloses each of these Adriatic Sea view residences, both enhanced by in-house gyms and spas, libraries, sleeping space for dozens, and designer furnishings by Padova, Denise Milano, Flos, Kartell and Davide Gropi, accented by the contemporary artworks of recognized Croatian artists.
Constructed across multiple levels to mimic their Adriatic seafront lots’ inclines, both architect-designed villas are open-plan and water-focused, with generous glass panes drawing all eyes out to sea, and shimmering swimming pools dominating their foregrounds. Both villas feature full-time, live-in staff who prepare a daily breakfast and cocktail hour, fully stocked wine cellars and gyms/spas, and hillside perches above a fishing village on the Adriatic coastline, minutes from the beach.
AROUND
Palms and citrus pop off the island’s characteristic white stone (which famously decorates buildings like the White House and the United Nations HQ). However, the island’s best-known beach is celebrated for its gold tone—the “Golden Horn” beach near the resort village of Bol (40 minutes away), a town of thrumming night life and golden sands.
An island of rolling hills punctuated by a dramatic coastline and a national park (Vidova Gora), Brac offers classic seaside pursuits (swimming, sailing, water sports) as well as dozens of hiking trails and bike routes inland. The fishing village of Splitska is set immediately below the villas on the coast, accessible on foot or by car. Beaches encircle the island, the nearby sands of Lovrencina the island’s most popular, ideal for families with its shallow waters and waterfront restaurants and activities.
A walking trail, the Via Brattia, makes a 135 kilometer circle of the island, passing numerous historic sites and monuments. And the villas come with bikes for cycling the island, both inland and along coastal trails with pretty sea views and stops in small, Dalmatian coastal villages. Water taxis and ferries deliver visitors to the urban activity in Split or the neighboring island of Hvar, both great spots for sightseeing and soaking up the sun.
