La Dolce Vita at the Water's Edge
This villa for rent in Lake Como offers an immersive experience into the magical world of the famous lake and an unexpected fusion of high tech contemporary design and old world charm. We love the subtlety of the modernist refinements and the bold use of color that adds drama and atmosphere. With glittering views of the lake and a private dock with direct access, it’s la dolce vita right at the water's edge.

Located in Tremezzina, on the Zoca de L'Oli gulf directly across from Isola Comacina (the only island on the lake), this villa for rent on Lake Como is an idyllic place for a unique and exclusive stay.
Constructed entirely of beautiful hand-made stone, the villa dates back to the early 20th century and has undergone a careful restoration enhancing its subdued, yet elegant character.
The imposing facade reveals surprising and uniquely designed interiors that combine high tech contemporary style with old-world charm, emphasizing the villa’s innate beauty. The original wooden beams, rich parquet floors and retro cast iron radiators add elements of warmth to the eclectic decor and furnishings.
Divided into two sections, the ground floor interiors feature a bright living area characterized by clean lines and elements of emotion such as the two-sided stone fireplace and sleeping area, punctuated in bolts of color and geometric silhouettes that add both dynamism and determination to the environment.
The kitchen is the ideal center of the house and is designed around a long table that amplifies the conviviality and social environment and seats up to 12.
Fully equipped with state-of-the-art appliances, the minimalist, high-tech design evokes a feeling of lightness and functionality and is flooded with light through two large windows and a skylight that runs throughout.
The modular and minimalist interior is enhanced by the comforts and services that only a fine villa can offer including features that combine aesthetics and functionality along with the latest technologies such as soundproof glass to ensure relaxation and tranquility.
Designed as balanced and linear spaces, the three bedrooms light up thanks to the colorful hues of the walls. Two master bedrooms have terraces overlooking the lake and the third, which overlooks the garden, contains two single beds that can form a double bed if desired. The two luxurious, spa-inspired bathrooms (one with a jacuzzi), are designed in marble and wood with an elegant wellness vibe.
The extensive park-like gardens feature ancient olive trees and grassy expanses where guests can enjoy beautiful views of Comacina Island, the lake and surrounding mountains with natural hedges for privacy. A private boat slip grants you exclusive launch access the lake.
With an inspired mix of vibrant design, luxurious comforts and one-of-kind views, this villa is a privileged and memorable retreat.

AROUND
The Zoca de L'Oli gulf on the western branch of Lake Como is the only spot within the lake with an island - La Isola Comacina. A unique feature of the region, the island has its own ancient archeological sites, lush natural terrain and several interesting rationalist artist houses. It's also host to the Festival of San Giovanni on the last Saturday in June each year where the food, music and fireworks light up the night. The UNESCO Heritage site of Monte di Ossuccio is within a 30-minute walk from the house and is well worth the visit. Dotted with 16th-century chapels surrounded by woods and olive groves, the mountain offers magnificent views. Don't miss a visit to the Villa Balbianello just a few minutes from the house.
For centuries this exclusive enclave has been a celebrated destination for royalty, aristocrats and celebrities to play and enjoy the unparalleled beauty of Italy’s northern lake region. The Tremezzo district is perhaps the most strategic on Lake Como with the famous Villa Carlotta nearby, as is Cadenabbia. Perhaps the most famous of all of Lake Como’s towns, Bellagio is a glittering little jewel overlooking all three branches of the lake.
Based at the foothills of the Alps and offering dramatic scenery of the surrounding mountains and the crystal clear waters, Lake Como’s iconic character and natural beauty are uniquely atmospheric and impressive. Dotted with charming villages and spectacular villas along both legs of the waterfront, the ferries are the best way to take in the many lake vistas and visit the many famous towns including Lecco and Varenna.
