In The Land Of Trulli
Situated at the gates of the Valle d'Itria, this vacation home rental in Puglia is nestled into the Murgia hills surrounding the ancient city of Putignano, offering up the magical and slightly dreamlike quality of the land of trulli.
Typical of the Apulian “ Murgia”, the property dates back to the 19th century and has been lovingly restored with particular attention paid to the recovery of the ancient materials and respect for traditions.
A charming compound of two interconnected trulli and one dependence, the property is very private and self-contained, with high dry stone walls and grounds that encircle a small infinity pool.
The historic farm dwellings feature the characteristic conical roofs and dazzlingly whitewashed limestone, preserving their authenticity and historic value while offering up modern comforts and services to make you feel at home.
The owners embrace the art of hospitality as well as local gastronomy and will serve up some of their local favorites. The bright and comfortable rooms are decorated in the simple Mediterranean style, in wood, stone, and lovely handcrafted tile with charming gestures that provide a sense of comfort and well-being.
The main suite features all original stones and a rustic, elegant design with garden views and sleeps two, with one additional en suite double bedroom and one quadruple room each with garden views.
From the Mediterranean gardens, you can laze in the sun poolside, or dine alfresco under the pergola from where you can view the historic town of Putignano below.

THE MURGIA HILLS
Located in the Murgia Hills of Bari, Putignano is best known for its ancient Carnival. One of the longest and oldest in Europe, it begins just after Christmas and runs through Spring, with processions of papier-mâché giants generally held on Thursdays and Sundays.
The main piazza at its heart features beautiful palaces and churches, with excellent fresh markets, bakeries and cafes. Don't miss the spectacular karst caves of the Grotto del Trullo and the Grotte di Castellana just a few minutes away.
A truly unique cultural experience, this area of Italy offers amazing food, wine and miles of beautiful Adriatic coastline. Located under an hour from the famous “White Town” town of Ostuni, the house is also just a short drive to the charming little fishing harbour of Savelletri and some of Puglia’s loveliest beaches on the Costa Merlata. You are also 45 minutes drive from Matera.
Ideally placed for exploring the enchanting Valle d’Itria, the villages of Martina Franca, Cisternino Alberobello, and Locorotondo are some of the most well preserved and fascinating in Puglia. The amazing Torre Guaceto nature reserve is an hour south and includes both a widely protected marine and wilderness area perfect for exploring the coastal beauty. Don’t miss the charming old town of Polignano a Mare with breathtaking cliffside views of the Adriatic.
Biking, hiking, wine tasting and summer food festivals along with local shopping are all conveniently close by.
