Start the day in the outdoor pool, taking in the views of the Apulian countryside, them move indoors during the warmest hours of the day to the air-conditioned spa pool, and watch the stars by night in the outdoor heated Jacuzzi.

Dominating an intimate valley just outside of the jet-set favorite White City of Ostuni, this authentic trulli looks out over the countryside with picturesque views of hilltop towns, fields, trulli tops and olive trees. 

Originally built centuries ago, the structures are among the many unique to the region and is a faithful example of the authentic construction and building techniques throughout the area. 

Discovered partially in ruins, the structures were painstakingly restored over a two-year period with lovely detail and authentic materials that renew their ancient appeal. Working with craftsmen and art conservators, the graceful shapes, rugged stone and historic characteristics were restored in a luxurious but respectful update.

The cavern-like interiors have only been lightly modified, with all of the original exposed stone work visible, adapting the spaces for modern life. The main structure houses the sitting room that opens out to a large veranda, a spacious living room and a fully-equipped kitchen with dining area. There are three double en-suite bedrooms along with a sofa bed with accommodations for up to eight guests. And best of all, there is an indulgent ozone-filtered indoor spa pool.

Decorated with unique furnishings and decor sourced from local antique shops along with custom made pieces designed by local artists, the home feels authentic and rustic but with all of the luxuries and comforts of a designer home.  

The huge outdoor terraces are perfect for entertaining, with a barbecue and pizza oven, multiple shaded spots for alfresco dining and a lounge bar carved out of dry stone. The Jacuzzi overlooks the stunning views and is the ideal spot for toasting with local wines in an authentic Apulian paradise. In the summer of 2021, the owners added a 50m outdoor swimming pool, with a 200m solarium, to round off the collection of features designed for total relaxation.

AROUND 

Located just a few miles from the famous “White Town” town of Ostuni, the house is  also just a short drive to some of Puglia’s loveliest beaches on the Costa Merlata. Ideally placed for exploring the enchanting Valle d’Itria, the villages of Martina Franca, Cisternino and Locorotondo are some of the most well preserved and fascinating in Puglia.  

The charming little fishing harbour of Savelletri and the lovely old town of Ceglie Messapica, renowned for its excellent cuisine, are both under a half hour away. The amazing Torre Guaceto nature reserve, includes both a widely protected marine and wilderness area perfect for exploring the coastal beauty. Don’t miss the charming old town of Polignano a Mare with breathtaking cliffside views of the Adriatic just thirty miles away.
