Double the Pleasure
Two newly built cabins are joined together to create this sweet oceanfront cottage complex on the shimmering shore of Cape Breton. The charming, cedar-shingled structures were created in the island’s traditional building style, yet they are definitively modern—spacious, filled with new amenities, and flooded with natural light.
A generous partially-covered deck surrounds both cabins, with views in all directions—panoramas of the thick forest that insulates the property, and out to the stunning seascape, with its unforgettable sunsets in fiery shades of crimson, pink and orange.
Two intimate, seaside cottages created as one great vacation home, these cedar-clad cabins feature soaring rafters, whitewashed interiors, and sleek wood floors, offering the best of modern beach house styling with a reverence for Cape Breton’s traditional architecture. Sliding doors give way to a large deck that joins the cabins, perfect for outdoor cooking and lounging.
One cottage is dedicated to the home’s common areas, with a well-equipped cook’s kitchen, cozy wood-burning stove, and comfortable, casual living room under white beamed, high-pitched ceilings. The other structure is the sleeping cottage, equipped with a queen bedroom and adjacent bath, plus a bunk area for the kids. The bathroom is large and luxurious, with a tiled shower, radiant floor heating and even views out to sea. Both cabins feature dramatically peaked ceilings, with sturdy whitewashed crossbeams and roof rafters overhead.
Perhaps best of all is the ample outdoor deck space that wraps around this cabin for rent in Nova Scotia. The deck offers 360-degree vistas out to the ocean and into the woods. It’s a great place to barbecue, sit and read, or take in the show of local eagles in flight, or whales on the move. The cottages are a three-minute drive from the secluded beach area, with two other big beaches close by.
