This extra-large villa is located on the west coast of central Greece in the Ambracian Gulf, and reached via a winding country road lined with olive groves. The villa itself is nestled behind a stone wall and iron gate, surrounded in lemon trees, oleander and lavender, and is set in a stunning location overlooking the Ionian Sea. The estate in which it is located is totally private and isn't overlooked.

The property for years played host to artists, scientists and politicians, including three Greek prime ministers. It was recently modernized with eco-friendly features like solar panels and an olive-pit-burning furnace, and made available as a vacation rental.

The exterior of the house has extensive amenities. A huge infinity pool with spectacular views is the centrepiece of the villa, and for those wishing to have a cooling drink, the pool offers the luxury of a submerged table and seating. 

Away from the hustle and bustle of the main villa, there are lots of quiet areas with benches, seating and swings. It has its own stone jetty which means direct access to the sea, and there are sun beds along with a stone table to watch the sun go down. The property also has an outdoor cinema, trampoline and table tennis table, and, for the more adventurous, canoes, paddleboards and bicycles. 

A large vegetable garden supplies the villa with vegetables and herbs, and there are numerous fruit trees throughout the grounds. In fact, there are 500 mature olive trees on the land that produce 10 tons of olives every two years. Chickens roam the land and produce fresh eggs that guests are welcome to eat.

One advantage of this villa is that the rental price includes the services of a cook who will prepare three meals daily (with ingredients paid for by clients). AROUND

The villa is located near the village of Sparto and the town of Amphilochia, which sits like an amphitheater on the west coast of Greece. The region is known for its fantastic beaches and the famous Gambras Prawns. The house has a private pier. In the morning there is no wind, which makes the sea perfect for canoeing.
