A Reimagined Farmhouse in the Le Marche Hills
What started as a rainy week viewing 26 ruins ended with a shell of a farmhouse and a vision. Former contractor Edwin and stylist Odette spent seven years transforming the structure. They preserved the thick stone walls and original beams but injected a modern soul using bold colors, graphic art, and high-end kitchen appliances.
The aesthetic is a curated mix of vintage finds and contemporary Dutch design. Expect sleek black kitchens featuring Boretti ovens, Jura coffee machines, and KitchenAid mixers. Every room possesses a distinct personality, balancing the cool precision of modern furniture with authentic terracotta tiles. The ground floor apartment is featuring a wood stove, providing a cozy, traditional focal point.
The 13-meter saltwater pool is the focal point, surrounded by a sun terrace with loungers and parasols. A pergola shades the long dining table, perfect for alfresco meals prepared on the pellet barbecue. The garden offers hammocks strung between trees and a dedicated play area for children. The owners’ private cottage is situated to ensure complete guest privacy.
What we love
We love the traditional farmhouse that blends with the Marche landscape on the outside, and the playful Dutch design elements like Piet Hein Eek furniture and the colorful tiles in the kitchen and bathrooms on the inside. Every detail shows the passion and love the owners have invested over years into this renovation project.
