One of a pair of homes within an exclusive, ecological “living project” carved into the Tulum jungle, this designer villa by Estudio Macías Peredo focuses on celebrating the Yucatan’s cultural, architectural and natural legacy. Interiors are by Habitación 116, and the striking residence’s furnishings were created by Jorge Diego Etienne. The property's design captured a Silver International Design Award in 2024.

And did we mention the two pools? Choose between a sun-soaked, rooftop terrace swim or a ground-level splash surrounded by a jungle fringed terrace. With room for 12 guests, the home has four en-suite bedrooms (one king, two double queens, one single queen), and it also offers a curated gathering space for 10 yogis and wellness seekers. The kitchen is a gastronome’s delight, outfitted with professional equipment ideal for private chefs and event caterers. Three half bathrooms add to the convenience, and with 5,500+ square feet of combined indoor and outdoor living space, the home lets you truly spread out. A dedicated concierge is on hand for guest support, and housekeeping is provided daily.

The living project/Candela community was awarded an IDA Silver Design Award in 2024 for its commitment to weaving together architecture, community, nature and wellness, with a sustainability commitment to natural, local, low-impact materials, amenities, and personal products. Construction materials include locally sourced tropical wood (Pucté), traditional chukum plaster and regionally sourced limestone.

Once a sleepy village sought after for its remarkable Mayan archeological ruins and the UNESCO-protected Sian Ka’an and Parque Nacional Tulum, Tulum has expanded in recent years, making the laid-back town a diner’s delight and favorite destination for beachgoers who like their sand and surf with a side of massage, yoga, and wellness. Dense jungle vegetation extends inland from the sea, offering a classic tropical vacation destination with dining under swaying palms and an active outdoor nightlife. The Reserva de la Biosfera Sian Ka’an is full of cenotes as well as diverse flora and fauna unique to the area.
