On the Quiet Side of Mykonos, Minutes from the Beach
The renovation of this home was carried out by hand, guided by personal taste. The result is a home that feels lived-in rather than resort-finished: a base for the Mykonos that its owner wants to share with guests. Spread across two levels, Villa Celesta has five bedrooms, each with an en-suite shower room. The open-plan kitchen is fully equipped. A dining room and living room sit at the heart of the home. The shaded outdoor dining area seats up to 15.
The infinity pool faces south towards the open Aegean, with a hot tub alongside it, plus a separate barbecue area and an outdoor bar. On warmer evenings, the outdoor cinema comes into its own. The hillside position means the views are unobstructed—Kalo Livadi directly below, Naxos on the horizon—and wind-sheltered enough to make the terrace usable from morning through to late evening.
What we love
The terrace at Villa Celesta faces south over Kalo Livadi bay with the most impressive view one long sweep of sand, open sea, and the distant outline of Naxos. When you want to leave the hillside, Lohan Beach House is three minutes down to the beach: Greek and Mediterranean food, sunbeds, and a notably unfrantic energy for Mykonos. The host has spent summers here since childhood and knows the island the way few people do, including the corners that no guidebook has found yet.

Good to know
Daily cleaning is included. A car is essential as Kalo Livadi sits on the southeast coast, roughly 11 kilometers from Mykonos Town and 10–12 minutes from the airport. The concierge can assist with transfers and car hire. The villa's south-facing hillside position makes it naturally wind-sheltered, which is a advantage on an island known for its winds. The host is available to guests and has considerable knowledge of the island.

Around
Kalo Livadi is one of the largest sandy beaches on Mykonos, around 10 kilometers southeast of Mykonos Town. It sits between Elia and Kalafatis and has a quieter character than the south-coast party beaches—shallow, clear water, a more relaxed pace. Lohan Beach House, set directly on the sand at Kalo Livadi, operates as both a beach club and a restaurant serving Greek and Mediterranean cuisine. For something closer to the island's everyday rhythms, the inland village of Ano Mera is a 10-minute drive. Its central square, pedestrianized since 2001, is surrounded by traditional tavernas known for their Mykonian meats and kopanisti, the island's spicy cheese. The 15th-century monastery of Panagia Tourliani anchors the square. RIZES Mykonos, a folkloric farmstead just outside the village, offers roasted and oven-baked dishes made from ingredients sourced on site, alongside farm tours and cooking classes.
