This lush, tropical luxury villa for rent in Costa Rica is a luxurious and private retreat. Located on a secluded hillside at the entrance of Tamarindo, there are breathtaking views of Tamarindo estuary and the Pacific Ocean all the way north to Playa Grande. 

Inspired by Balinese-style living and built mostly with materials and furniture imported from Indonesia, this beautiful and spacious custom home was designed by renowned San Diego architect Steve Adams. With over 15,000 square feet, it is a vast compound that sleeps 19 people.  

The living area seats 12 for dining at the ironwood long table or relaxing in comfort and style and can be opened or closed partially or completely depending on weather conditions. Once opened, the spectacular views from the main terrace are perfect for outside dining or enjoying a cocktail while viewing an amazing tropical sunset. Warm wood, wicker and gleaming tile create a tropical feel that extends to the endless horizon.

Divided by an outdoor terrace and breezeway, there are plenty of opportunities for privacy but with a communal ideal. With a total of eight bedrooms (six kings, seven singles), nine baths and two fully-equipped kitchens, there is room for everyone. 

The two pools are one of the highlights of the property and include a 21m overflowing lap pool with integrated jacuzzi, ending at a wood deck with double loungers for hanging out. The pool on the main floor overflows on four sides, giving the impression of a giant mirror looking towards the ocean.

A sliding automated gate and pedestrian door opens to a large half covered courtyard for private car and bike parking. At entrance there is guest parking and a beautiful walkway to main entry door. External doors are opened with keypads or remote controls- no need to carry keys to the beach. A big beach shower is just inside a keypad-operated door, leading inside the house. Surfboard racks located in courtyard and inside the hallway, across from the beach shower. 

Toys and baby bed available. Activity equipment includes: ping pong table, yoga mats, weights, bench, jump cords, power balls, two skate quarter ramp making a half pipe, 12-foot trampoline, a selection of surfboards on request, stand up paddle boards, a body board and two sets of TRX suspension trainers.

It's just five minutes' walking distance to the beach and to Tamarindo town center, which has become an inviting destination filled with shops, restaurants and nightlife. With an abundance of wellness, nature, beauty and organic living options, Tamarindo has been dubbed a Blue Zone – where life expectancy is among the highest in the world. 

Playa Grande and Las Baulas National Park (nesting grounds for the indigenous giant leatherback turtles) is close by. Rich in wildlife, the area is home to an abundance of exotic species such as monkeys, iguanas and tropical birds. The park is protected by law, so residents can count on unspoiled nature. This is an outdoor activities paradise.
