Slovenian Wine Country Retreat
Its tag line an encouraging “stay where no one can find you,” this wine country retreat in the emerging Štajerska wine region of Slovenia promises seclusion, rest and rejuvenation (plus wine!) in a serene natural setting on the border of Slovenia and Austria. With picturesque views and tranquil green surroundings, the property was created for unwinding, with a pretty pond and rolling vineyards all around it. Forests stretch beyond the vines, and the estate is located just below the Vineyard Museum Kebl.
This traditional vineyard workers’ home for up to six guests has been transformed into a modern, wine country retreat. Occupying a gentle rise, lush with surrounding forests and grape-laden vines, the house offers a panoramic place to pause, breathe, and enjoy the tranquil Slovenian wine country.
Giant sliders open to the countryside, and a generous terrace offers scenic outdoor dining. An infinity pool stretches along the horizon above the vineyards, and there’s a cozy, contemporary wood-burning stove for cooler times. The home also features a wine cellar and sauna and has an e-charging station for vehicles.

Around
Arguably the most romantic road in Slovenia leads you to the heart-shaped, vineyard property. The Plač Lookout tower soars 28 meters high, offering panoramas that stretch all the way to Austria and Croatia, too, and there’s a Renaissance hilltop castle nearby, too (Svečina Castle). Outdoor enthusiasts can hike, cycle and even ski the hills of the area. The snow resort of Pohorje offers 35 kilometers of slopes and 13 lifts. It's Slovenia’s largest resort, with night skiing, a mountain and ebike park, and mountain carts. For warmer months, it also has a PohorJet track (a summer sled descent) and a dense network of hiking trails through land dotted with forests, lakes and waterfalls. The towns of Maribor, Graz, Ptuj, and Ljubljana are all about an hour and a half drive from the property.
