Although it’s set in a tight clearing, the cabin’s windowed façade offers views of Mont Tremblant, the Rouge River Valley and the local peak, Montagne d’Argent. Hiking happens right out the backdoor, with a favorite warm weather trek the gentle trail to nearby Lac Long. Another warm weather favorite is canoeing or kayaking the Riviere Rouge, a quick, 5-minute drive from the property. The river’s banks are lined intermittently with sandy beaches, perfect picnic or sunbathing spots along the waterway. La Conception is easily accessible from Montreal and Ottawa, with Toronto and Quebec City a bit further afield, and the area is famed for its outdoorsy activities in all seasons, from cycling to skiing to falconing. Wildlife inhabits the regional forests, including moose, bear, and Canadian lynx, and Mont Tremblant National Park covers of 1,500 kilometers of protected woods, river delta, and mountain peaks.
