A Deeply Personal Dammuso Dwelling, Straight out of a Guadagnino Film
Two hundred meters from the sea, on "the black pearl of the Mediterranean" Pantelleria – literally a landscape of charcoal-hued lava stone – exists a seaside sanctuary. A place that feels lost in time where elegance, tranquility and authenticity meet.
A Deeply Personal Dammuso Dwelling, Straight out of a Guadagnino Film
Created by a Parisian ex-model agent and her art and tech-influenced Milanese-Sicilian husband, for whom the powerful nature and history of the island has been a source of inspiration, the Dammuso is the main villa of the entire domain. It offers beautiful Mediterranean interiors, blending art pieces, design and high-end service. Architecture enthusiasts will enjoy the unique atmosphere of staying in a restored old structure built of volcanic stone, with high domed ceilings. This is a place that feels lost in time where elegance, tranquility and authenticity meet. Daily home-made breakfast is included and guests can enjoy all the in-house services that Parco dei Sesi proposes.
A poem to Pantelleria, the restored property was owned by the owner's artist parents since the 1970s, held together by ancient rocks and seemingly lit entirely by diffused natural light. The dwelling faces expansive views of the sea and Africa. Simple, beautiful and stirring, we love the home's curation of art and design books, its ochre chevron tilework, and collection of art in collaboration with the local A’Nica Gallery. "We want to invite creative souls to be inspired, enrich and share a collection of art," the owners add. This is the kind of place for those who feel that luxury is a salad made with zero pesticides and the bounty just outside the door, or that watching a sunset with a spritz in hand, after a meal of the island's prized fish and capers is the ultimate pre-bedtime ritual.

Experiences
The hotel is fully staffed with chefs, butlers, cleaners and the hosts themselves. The resident chef, exclusive to guests of the property, prepares Mediterranean cuisine using local, seasonal ingredients. The property is an official organic farm producing capers, olives, olive oil and oregano, and fresh pasta and bread are made on site. All meals happen are served at a communal table under the pergola, with a different menu each day, and a lunch box can be prepared for excursion days. On Wednesdays, the chef teaches the secrets of Sicilian pasta making in an outdoor cooking class, followed by lunch.
Guests are invited to disconnect. There are no TVs, but there are art books. Wifi is available only in the main pergola and the Grande Dammuso or upon request. There is a dishwasher in the kitchen, and laundry service. Daily cleaning is included, with a change of bed sheets every week, and a change of towels every four days.
The team can create custom-made bespoke experiences, including lunches, dinners, yoga, massages (by the pool or under a tree), boat trips, hikes, and private dinners in unique locations. The sea is a 10-minute walk from the property, and vehicle rental is highly recommended for exploring the island. Three e-bikes are available for use, with others available from rental partners.
This property is also suitable for events. If you would like to organize a retreat or other event, please inquire.
Around
This property is located in the heart of the archeological Sesi park in Pantelleria. There's not an abundance of things to do here, but that's the general ethos. Those in-the-know come for the food, the sunbathing, the genuine community and the company of their loved ones in a spectacular natural setting. You can rent a moped or a car while you're on the island, and explore its coves and inlets.
With volcanic activity still aplenty, the island doubles as an open-air spa. In the summer, the owners suggest watching the smoky fumaroles come out of the ground during a trek to Favare, taking a dip in the thermal waters of Cala Nikà or just laying down for hours in the bubbling waters of Lago Specchio di Venere, after having covered your body with its dark, smoothing clay.

Best Time to Visit:
Pantelleria is well-documented as a magical summer gateway, but true lovers of the island know that it has much more to offer all year long. Truman Capote even once said, "Pantelleria is born for the winter. With its mysterious silence, its positive energy, the starry sky and the smell of the sea, you realize that you have need of nothing else."
