Our co-founder Veronique’s pick is all about wide, open spaces topped by azure Italian skies. She loves outdoor living, and this home truly brings the indoors out. “I like this property because of the outdoor spaces with no ceilings. It’s authentic, open-air living with only blue skies overhead.”
Ana, our accounting manager, dreams about the comfort of old stones, imagining the storied past of this Italian getaway. “There’s something about limestone that makes me think about the past. I wonder who lived within these walls, how the walls were created, and how many people’s hands placed those stones."
MAISON MASTRORELLI, ROQUEFORT-LES-PINS, FRANCE
Our community manager Simone found inspiration in this 18th-century coaching inn, nestled in the French countryside. "I love the house for the combination of ancient walls with interiors that are modern but still classy and artsy. Most of all, though, I like the inviting and holiday atmosphere the owners have created. Looking at the images feels like a breezy summer day."
Content editor and social media manager Paulina has planned the perfect day at her historic Italian home, contemplating its beauty from morning ‘til night. “Every single space of the property seems magical. I would love to wake up and walk the property with a cup of coffee in hand, admiring the olive trees, flowers and patios, then lie by the pool and read before enjoying an al fresco dinner on one of the terraces.”
BENTO MAKALEI, HONOLULU, HAWAII
Community manager Mikayla loves a tropical vibe, dense with vegetation and pretty, fragrant flowers. This Hawaiian haunt was the obvious pick for her. “This property feels nestled within the tropical landscape. I love its modern look mixed with classical Hawaiian design.”
RICHARD NEUTRA'S MOSBY HOUSE, MISSOULA, MONTANA
Our co-founder Heinz seeks authenticity in all things, especially in a BoutiqueHomes property. This inspired house hits all the right points, with its visionary design and deeply personal story. “This home has all of our top priorities: It’s authentic, personal, and inspiring.”
COCONDO, ZUID-HOLLAND, NETHERLANDS
Content editor Roshan loves a good story, and this creative home has an amazing one. “I had the good fortune to interview the mastermind behind this converted WWII bunker in the Netherlands, and love the story of how it came to life as a vacation home. It’s a unique space that’s full of history and heart, with a generous helping of obsession.”
CABAÑA OLIVO, GUANAJUATO, MEXICO
This vibrant home is close enough to our client and owner support manager Kris' own home to be a weekend getaway, making it the perfect choice. “I like the playful and understated eclectic décor, and the immediate connection to the surrounding forest. Plus, as someone who hasn’t traveled to faraway places lately, I love that this property is accessible—within a day’s drive from where I live.”
BAKATS APARTMENT, BUDAPEST, HUNGARY
Content writer Rebecca likes to vacation in cities for the welcome change of pace they offer from her otherwise quiet, outdoorsy life. “A historic European apartment with chevron wood floors and a breathtaking view on a massive church dominating a leafy square transports me into a scene I absolutely love—a gilded city abuzz with life and a serene, comfortable apartment overlooking it all.”
