Painted a dramatic black on the outside, the interiors are bright and airy with an open plan living and dining area situated around a double sided fireplace. There are two double bedrooms each with access to the terrace and one bath with direct access to a full size sauna. <h2 id="canalfrontincopenhagen">Canalfront in Copenhagen</h2>
The property is the vision of gallery curator and designer Tina Seidenfaden Busck of the renowned The Apartment gallery. The Apartment Upstairs is the designer's private home filled with special furniture, art, and textiles and decorative objects, available for short stays and private events by special arrangement.
Built across two lofty stories opposite a scenic Copenhagen canal, this beautiful two-bedroom penthouse’s ebony floors gleam in contrast to its whitewashed, exposed structural timbers and refitted modern furnishings. Adding to its allure, the penthouse’s styling is sweetly 20th-century vintage. Notable design features include a powderpuff pastel bathroom with a soaking tub and rain shower, country-cottage touches in the living room furnishings, and a patchwork of farmstead décor in the double bedrooms.
A loft-like floating staircase angles upward from the newly built, open-plan living and kitchen space. And a pair of armchairs occupy a deck-styled balcony high above the Christianshavn Canal in this must-visit central Copenhagen neighborhood.
Please note: The apartment is a fifth floor walk-up, with bedrooms on its upper level and bathroom on its lower level.
<h3 id="around">Around</h3>
Copenhagen’s central neighborhood of Christianshaven is every bit the water-crossed “haven” of peace its name implies. The area is made up of a series of artificial islands in the inner section of the city, with canals, moats and even a harbor front in the area. The neighborhood is also home to the Freetown Christiania. Trek up the 400 serpentine steps of the Church of Our Savior for an expansive view over the entire city or stroll the Inner Harbour Bridge to explore the New Harbour, Kings Square, and Amalienborg Palace, home to Denmark’s royal family.
Green grocers and organic markets line the cobbled streets, and there are independent bakers along the harbor front, cafes along the sunny canals, and more refined dinner options around every corner. Choose from sushi, creative vegetarian, the famed NOMA’s burger shop, or a restaurant in a 17th-century windmill on the ramparts. Lots of street food options offer picnic-styled seating along the harbor front, and the neighborhood is a walkers’ (or cyclist’s) paradise, with historic buildings along the many picturesque canals. North of Christianshavn, the industrial area of Refshaleøn extends, full of art galleries, world-renowned restaurants, a street food market and urban chill out spaces. The area is most easily reached by hopping on the Harbour Bus.

 This architectural gem was designed by Søren Sarup of Puras Architecture, and it's hard not to fall in love with its geometrical whimsy and elegant simplicity. It's composed of three elements, the main building, the annex and the curved wooden deck that combines them. It's a bold yet simple, light-filled space, with unexpected angles and an open-plan design that allows you to see from one end of the home through to the other. The transitions between inside and out are seamless.The house is located in nature, less than a mile from the dunes of the North Sea. The location is mirrored in the natural materials used to build the home: Douglas fir panelling on the outside and a Douglas fir floor on the inside, as well as natural slate tiles on its roof. The huge windows (up to 16ft in height) allow abundant light to flood in, and for each room to pay homage to the outside world. The 14ft window in the master bedroom is a stunning feature, whether you are looking into it or out from it at the forest.
