Strategically located for expansive views across Lake Orford, this 3,200sqft, newly constructed beauty faces the water, the lake gleaming enticingly outside its living and dining rooms, kitchen and bedrooms. Giant windows cover the architectural home’s facades, spanning 55 feet across and flooding the living spaces with natural light. A central skylight overhead adds to the illumination, and the garden-level bedrooms continue the theme, each featuring large panoramic windows and direct access to the terrace.
A few meters above the lake’s shore, the waterfront lodge’s dramatic central living area is set under cedar-clad cathedral ceilings anchored by a sleek modern fireplace of smooth travertine. Rich, warm wood gives the home its mid-century modern bent, appearing in ceiling coverings, paneled room partitions, and the double-height stairwell. The Eastern Townships is crossed by well marked bike paths where cyclists can discover lakes, mountains and picturesque villages via paved pathways free of other vehicle traffic. 
Mont Orford National Park is the preferred destination of hikers, with numerous trails leading to lookout spots. The Mont-Orford Ski station serves as a trailhead, and there are also two beaches within the park that are great spots to relax on after a day of invigorating elevation gains. Lake Stuckley, inside the park, is a water sports enthusiasts’ mecca, with sailing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming and fishing available in Jouvence, an Eastern Townships resort community on the lake’s shores. Lake Memphrémagog greets the yachting set aboard cruisers that tour its waters, complete with brunch, lunch, happy hour or dinner. The nearby marshland known as Le Marais de la Rivière aux Cerises is a woodland bog and swampland that’s home to birds, mammals and amphibians and a fascinating ecosystem across its five miles of stilted trails. And the Abbey of Saint Benoit du Lac overlooks Lake Memphrémagog and welcomes visitors to its sanctuary and its shop filled with monk-made cheeses, ciders, compotes and jellies. 
The region’s hills and valleys are lined with vineyards, and the Estrie Wine Route welcomes tasters and tourists eager to visit the wineries by car or bike. Winter visitors can enjoy cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, hiking and Nordic ski trails within the National Park. There’s an ice skating path in downtown Magog alongside Lake Memphrémagog and aprés skiers/outdoorsmen will appreciate the area’s wide number of spas and health centers, with thermal and Nordic baths and more available in the region.

Not new to renovations, she set about clearing the space, opting for a minimalist, family-friendly makeover that takes full advantage of its pretty location in a privileged corner of Provence. The home’s new look was celebrated in a French home décor magazine for its lively, contemporary styling.The exterior of this villa for rent in Provence was given a new, smooth coat of bone-colored plaster under its tiled roof, and a pool terrace was poured from concrete, creating cushion accented, built-in bench loungers and poolside sun decks tossed with body pillows. An outdoor dining room occupies a wide covered balcony, and café tables and chairs allow for poolside snacking, too. Indoor dining happens around a brut wood dining table connected to the kitchen island and hung with contemporary lighting fixtures.  This is the perfect home for lounging. A bright splash of white, with long elegant lines, it's located in the cosmopolitan coastal city of Miami Beach. The resort may be better known for its Art Deco architecture, but it also has its fair share of gorgeous mid-century homes, including this one. Built in 1962, it was a pioneering green home, built from cement and using solar panels well ahead of its time. Its owners, a photographer and stylist, have kept the exterior lines but given the home a contemporary makeover, opening up much of the interior to create a sense of space. One of the most appealing features of this house are the rows of windows that wrap around the house, flooding the rooms with sunshine.

 The interiors are elegant in muted whites, greys and wood tones, with simple, contemporary furnishings, soft accent rugs and textiles. The third and fourth bedrooms have fulls, with exclusive bathrooms. The owners have surrounded the house with palm trees, creating a private oasis. They remodeled the pool, converting it to saltwater in the process, and added whitewashed wooden decking, with scattered mattresses, bean bags, and poufs. Designed by pioneering Mexico City architect Mario Pani, an arbiter of the International Style of Latin America and the creator behind the National Conservatory of Music and the Secretariat of Urban Development, this property is a temple to mid-century modernism. The vintage space has been updated at the hands of LA architect Miggi Hood, entrepreneur Marie Cazalaa, and mezcal magnate Yola Jimenez, in collaboration with Mexico City architect Luciana de la Garza of Estudio Atemporal.&nbsp;
Original details such as porthole windows, patchwork stone floors, spiraling stairs, and organic, undulating plaster built-ins have been well preserved. The property’s newer suites are designed as pared down concrete forms that flow naturally from the home’s original wing. Common spaces are expressly for hosting—salon-worthy or tertulia-styled rooms made for mingling, in the company of high-design furnishings by international masters such as Vladimir Kagan, Italian architect Paolo Buffa, Egg Chair designer Arne Jacobson, and Finnish-American industrial designer Eero Saarinen.&nbsp;
Guest suites feature vintage works such as a carved mahogany and glass screen by Eugenio Escudero, and newly created custom beds designed by co-owner/architect Hood and fabricated by local artisans in Mexico City.&nbsp;In-home experiences include daily Oaxacan-style breakfast, in-room massage, a dipping pool designed by Miggi Hood, on-site private chef experiences, and an art concierge/guide available for booking itineraries throughout the city.

Cuauhtémoc is one of Mexico City’s oldest neighborhoods, a leafy residential reserve that has not yet redesigned itself as a buzzy arts and cultural zone like Roma or Condesa. Mostly quiet, with stately residences and mid-century landmarks like the magnificent stain-glassed church that shares the guesthouse’s street, it’s a peaceful yet central part of the city, with easy access to museums, parks, and restaurants. The neighborhood is home to the Mexican Stock Exchange and numerous embassies, and bordered by the bustling Avenida de la Paseo de la Reforma. Locals gather at cafes, inventive restaurants and designer boutiques along Rio Panuco Road, and the area is considered the capital city’s cultural and economic hub.&nbsp;The 1,700-square-acre Parque de Chapultepec borders the neighborhood and is one of the city’s great urban parks. Mexico City’s historical center, Zócalo, is located in Cuauhtémoc, and features the Palacio Nacional, the Metropolitan Cathedral, and, close by, the ruins of the Aztec Templo Mayor/Tenochtitlán temple.
