The picturesque and charming village of Lumio is just down the road. To the north, you’ll find a wonderful and wild beach of l’Ostréiccone and further south is the “Calanches de Piana” with incredible red rock formations above the sea for exploring.Located on the northwest coast of the island within the Corsica Regional Park, the UNESCO designated Scandola Nature Reserve on the Cape Girolata Peninsula covers over 900 hectares of land and over 1,000 acres of marine habitat. A breathtaking stretch of coastline, it can only be reached by boat or for the very adventurous, on foot through steep mountainous terrain. A generous, cross-shaped tropical outpost, this oversized palapa features, at its heart, a kitchen opening onto to a long swimming pool. Tropical vegetation insulates the open, thatched property that’s looked over by cooking and cleaning staff who also deliver upon-arrival groceries selected according to guests’ preferences.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a farm table, prep island and stools, opening onto a generous circular common area for living, dining, lounging and swimming, making this property is a great place for gathering and sharing meals with family and friends.
Two bedrooms are king rooms, and the third has three singles, each opened to the common area if desired, via classic shuttered doors and windows. There’s an outdoor shower by the lushly landscaped pool terrace and an artesian well on property, too. 
<h3 id="around">Around</h3>
Trancoso is a small beach town that’s lack of resort development has made it a darling of the jet-set crowd seeking simplicity and seclusion. A former fishing village, Trancoso is located in the Bahia region of Brazil, a slightly off-the-beaten-path destination bathed by dense rainforest and surrounded by miles of beaches. The town is famed for its charming quadrado, a UNESCO-designated World Heritage site, with its whitewashed wedding chapel and colorful houses surrounding the square. The town became a favored hippie destination in the late 1960s, yet today the town is more hipster than hippie, its stylish cobbled streets and candy-colored houses increasingly popular with international trendsetters. Set on a bluff overlooking the ocean, Trancoso was originally settled by Jesuit priests in the late 1500s, and it is still pristine and relatively undeveloped today. The nearby villages of Arraial d’Ajuda and Caralva are worth a day trip, and one of Brazil’s most beautiful beaches, Espelho, featuring remarkably warm swimming lagoons formed at low tide by the coral reefs, is easily accessible nearby.

Inspired by Saint Benedict’s cross design, this property is a cross-shaped, giant domed palapa with a kitchen at its center and bedrooms filling its transept. A swimming pool pours from its intersection, lined with loungers and a rich wood staircase leading into the tropical landscape, and its impressive central palapa is held up by sturdy timbers and topped by solar panels. A cook and two housekeepers are on site daily.

Two, pitched roof, rectilinear structures topped with neatly braided thatch create this vacation home for rent in Brazil with delightful castaway vibes. Designed by a French architect and his wife, the pair of rectilinear spaces is joined by a wide central deck that skims the sand and features planters of lush vegetation, an outdoor dining area, and ample daybeds, loungers and hammocks for lazing in the area’s legendary tropical breezes.One cabana holds the home’s social areas, a neat, open-plan kitchen, dining, and living room fully open to the outdoors, only interrupted by the built-in sideboards between the louvered doors lining the room. The three-bedroom house is organized over two blocks, both of which open up to a wooden deck and large garden full of palm trees and jasmine flowers. The first block contains a fully-equipped kitchen, living and dining area, and one bedroom with bathroom. The second block contains the remaining bedrooms organized over two floors.The home has been decorated with contemporary art, Brazilian craftsman furniture, and unique pieces collected by the owner. As she tells us, &#34;My house is an original fisherman's house that I restored, and each year I do a lot of maintenance to keep it solid and to not waste energy. It is surrounded by nature, visited by monkeys and all kinds of birds, and I like to let it be this way, a continuation of the mata, which is the forest that surrounds it. This is the main feature of my house. It is immersed in the forest and surrounded by its inhabitants.&#34;AROUNDThe house is located on a small street paved with antique stones, with night and day security. It's a few minutes walk from the beaches and the Quadrado.The charming and rustic town of Trancoso sits along the southern region of the Atlantic coast of Bahia along beautiful stretches of unspoiled shoreline. A former laid-back hippy destination, the town is attracting a more jet-set crowd of late. From the Quadrado, to the cobblestoned streets and candy colored houses, this bluff side village hums along at a dreamy pace.The nearby beaches of Praia do Espelho, Praia dos Nativos, Rio da Barra are to the north and Rio Verde, Itaquema and Ponta de Itapororoca are to the south. Further north is the historic town of Arraial D’Ajuda in the district of Porto Seguro belonging to the region known as Discovery Coast (Costa do Descobrimento), where Portuguese explorers arrived in 1500.A peaceful and unique seaside village, it’s located on a plateau overlooking the breathtaking coastline. LOCATIONTrancoso, Bahia, Brazil.
